The Zonta Code:
  • To pledge myself to uphold the Ideals of Zonta.

  • To honor my work and consider it an opportunity for service.

  • To increase the measure of that service by consistent self improvement.

  • To contribute by study and action to the improvement of the legal, political, economic, and professional status of women.

  • To work for the advancement of understanding, goodwill and peace through a world fellowship of executives in business and the professions united in the Zonta ideal of service.

Our Impact Starts with Our Members

“I joined Zonta because I believe strongly in the mission of Zonta to improve the status of women, but I don’t have the time and energy to effect change by myself. This collaboration of a small group of amazing women in the Minneapolis club and of thousands of women globally can indeed make big changes for women. The bonus is the personal connection that I have made with women from a variety of professions, many of whom I would have never had the privilege to meet or work with otherwise.”

Sue Keirstead, Assistant Professor of Integrative Biology and Physiology, Administrative Co-director Stem Cell Institute, University of Minnesota

"Zonta provides an opportunity to volunteer for a cause that is deeply meaningful to me and fits into my life as a busy working professional."

Tania Hughes-Kremers, Director Sales Instructional Design, United Health Care

"As a new member of Zonta, I look forward to having a positive impact on girls and women, something I’ve always wanted to do, but just never found the time or means on my own. I am at a point in my life and my career where I really feel the obligation to give back and Zonta’s mission struck a chord with me."

Linda Davis, Independent Health Care Consultant

Throughout Zonta International’s history, improving the status of women - politically, legally, professionally, and in all other facets of life has been a motivating force. Zonta International is making this happen, laying the groundwork for women to achieve not just their personal goals but to improve conditions for women worldwide.

"Wanting to volunteer for something where I could make a positive effect on the lives of others I found Zonta. Zonta has an impressive and holistic approach of working to elevate the status of women locally and globally, which has been a topic close to my heart. I love that the members of Zonta have such varied backgrounds as this creates a very unique and "well rounded" approach to the work we strive to do. It feels good to be part of a group of "like minded" individuals making a difference in the lives women in our community."

Paula Hoisve, Director of Operations, Red Frog

“I continue to be impressed with the Minneapolis Zonta women and the things we accomplish. With your support by coming to our fundraisers and donating, we help women who will work hard to provide a better life for themselves and their families. We help women who want out of a violent situation; women who want to stop substance abuse and to those who want out of prostitution."

Patty Persons

"I joined Zonta in 2004 because I felt a strong personal connection to the club’s beneficiary at that that time and observed how Zonta (and the members of the club specifically) were uniquely positioned to help the organization. Now, 10 years later, I belong because I’m passionate about our mission of helping women realize their full potential, I have a greater understanding of the issues women face on a global level and I have made lifelong friends with fellow members. I’m here to work, help, give, think and yet receive so much more in return."

Lorrie Parent, Strategic Marketing Consultant, The Laurel Group
